I will begin with my preferred definition of a Health & Lifestyle Alchemist: The transformation of pain and suffering into awareness and freedom through a unique process of transmutation by using symptoms and stressors in the body, mind, and life to inform a creative and emerging therapeutic process that cultivates vibrant health and lasting well being.

You have tried medications, supplements, going from doctor to doctor trying to find answers, and even changing your diet but with little or no lasting results. Symptoms come back, things stop working, and you’re left to survive rather than thrive.

As I promised last week I have three more incredibly important reasons for not having Google be your go-to for medical advice. I’ve seen misinformed patients suffer due to misdiagnosing themselves or by taking the wrong supplement in the wrong dosage and I don’t want this to happen to you.
The Internet is an excellent place to look up geography or international news, purchase airline tickets, and find your aunt on Facebook, but it isn’t the place you should go to receive detailed medical advice.
Last week I shared with you a couple of learning experiences I had when I was first introduced to functional blood chemistry analysis – it helped me learn and then diagnose symptoms that saved my life, as well as diagnosing two patients with life-threatening blood disorders. The following case shows the power of reading lab markers holistically and functionally - please read on to learn more!
It’s your annual medical exam, and you know the routine - you spend 5-10 minutes with your doctor or the nurse practitioner/physician’s assistant, they weigh you, then measure your blood pressure and body temperature. If you’re lucky, they order a basic lab panel for 10-30 blood markers, which is fewer than half of what you really need for quality insight into your health.
